A Total Comfort Diagnostic will pinpoint the precise causes using advanced testing instruments and procedures for a whole house check-up.

The inspection begins with an evaluation of your heating and cooling equipment. A visually inspection will be conducted of your equipment for signs of deterioration, improper installation, or insufficient maintenance. We will also evaluate your system’s filtration and purification efficiency to determine if improvements would better clean your indoor air.

The inspection continues with an insulation evaluation. Even the best heating and cooling system will have trouble keeping you comfortable or will cost more to operate if you don’t have enough insulation. We will check for proper levels of insulation and hidden defects, such as hollow wall cavities, that allow air and heat to bypass your insulation. Attic ventilation levels will also be checked.

As part of the comfort diagnostic a blower door test will be conducted. This test will identify leaks in your home that let in dusty, moldy or polluted air from your attic, garage or crawl space. Leaky air ducts often bring in dirty air and cause your heating and cooling equipment to perform well below peak efficiency. We will pinpoint where your home’s worst air leaks are and where improvements can be made.

This wasted energy increases your monthly utility bills and causes hot and cold spots. Duct leaks can also bring in dusty, dirty and potentially contaminated air which can affect your health. An air flow capture hood will be used to measure how much conditioned air is being delivered in your home and evaluate the system for possible duct leakage. If problems are identified then appropriate solutions will be prescribed.

Once the inspection and testing are complete the results will be reviewed and you will be given a prioritized plan of recommended improvements.
